I have been reading how some people want to bring the BigBoy back to life. Another feller wants to make a bigger engine than the BigBoy. These are all good ideas and could be done.
My idea is to build a brand new steam engine modeled after a 4-8-4 Northern using completely new type of fuel like propane or methanol to heat the water. Completely computerize the machine and use modern composit metals to build it. I realize this would be expensive. However, it is my belief that if steam technology would have continued it would have eventually been computerized.
Has anybody every had this idea before?
