EasyDCC wireless system not allowed in Sweden? Any Swede here to confirm it?

I just found out at the forum Modellrallaren that EasyDCC wireless system is not allowed in Sweden. Is that correct? What DCC wireless systems are allowed in Sweden?

I just emailed CVP Products that makes the EastDCC system to find out if this is really correct. I will update this post as soon I have any answers.

Very likely true. The frequencies allowed for such devices in the US are used for other purposes in Europe and Australia and as such, consumer devices are not allowed to use them. This is one of the primary reasons Digitrax has infrared as well as radio - the IR is allowed worldwide.
The only other option is Lenz which doesn't have a real radio option - it uses a cordless phone. The interface unit doesn't care how the two parts of the cordless phone talk, so you would use whatever cordless phones are allowed in your country. I just don't think a telephone keypad makes a very intuitive throttle interface.

Check what frequencies are allowed for remote control airplanes and cars. Then contact EasyDC and/or Digitrax and ask them if their system can be switched to a frequency that is allowed. It's usually just a matter of changing out the crystals or adjusting the frequencies. You might need a radio electronics specialist to do the work.

ELECTROLOVE At present, Radio controlled frequencies used by NCE are only allowed in the U.S., Canada, and Australia per FCC regulations. [:(] NCE is investigating modifying thier frequencies for use in other countries, but no firm date on this as of yet. I know that this is NOT what you wanted to here my friend.
Of course you could immigrate to one of the three countries mentioned above...LOL, sorry Electrolove, just couldn't resist that.[:D][:D][:o)]

The Lenz cordless phone system is really good, it will acquire a loco do most of the functions and an easy speed control.

I agree with you guys cause I looked at EasyDCC too when I was looking for a system, not allowed here either.

I was given this info ....

QUOTE:
Greg, some European and Australian police and emergency use this band. Most
will not allow it to be licensed, I am sure that it would be ok as it's very
low power. However, in the legal sense they are not allowed. Digitrax
Radio's are not exported either.

Can your system can be switched to a frequency that is allowed?

Not at this particular time however that can always change.

Electrolove, my wife's grandmother, Olander, and her husband, Swanson, immigrated from Sweden back in 1900, they were upset over frequencies too...but they are happy now. Lots of land here in New England, and, Nova Scotia is a great place too, and just think , you would have Luc, Der John, and FERGIE for neighbors and MRR buddies, you could start a club!!! Get your green card !!!

Surely one of the miriad of DCC systems from Germany has a wireless option that can be run somewhere else in Europe?

The Lenz XPA accessory addresses this. They were confronted with the same issue and circumvented it by letting the cordless telephone manufacturers deal with getting their frequencies certified instead of dealing with it themselves.

Actually the FCC regulations only affect the U.S. Canda and Australilia have other agencies which regulate usage of frequencies in their respective countries. As it happens the US and Canda tend to coordinate so things work along their long mutual border. I did not know the wireless DCC products used in the US could be used in Austraila. Interesting news.

yep the ESU mobile control (ESU is well known in the US for their decoders) works. in general what is allowed to be sold in one european country can also be sold in any of the other EEC member states.

I have just purchased a Digitrax system in Australia and the wireless system is not allowed to be imported. My LHS has contacted Digitrax and has been told they are "working on it."

Australia Jim.

PS. The Australian girls are pretty good too, it gets *** hot here so they don't wear as many cloths as the Swedish girls!
