That's a neat setup - just one caution though - make sure you turn locos through 180 degrees at least once during the running in process to ensure that all the bearings, etc are fully bedded in (otherwise you may find you have a loco that runs superbly on left hand curves but makes weird noises on right handers!). I have a big loop of Hornby sectional track that I use for this, though it's neither fixed nor DCC at the moment.
