Im looking for a sound board and dcc decoder to put in my dc engines. Anyone have a favorite or know of some good manufacturers?

A good time to be looking, as there is a lot going on. Right now there are really 3 choices. Soundtraxx, ESU Loksound and MRC. Personally I don't think the MRC sound decoders are worth considering. Very soon (within weeks hopefully) Digitrax and QSI will have after market sound decoders available. I would suggest you log on to a web site like www.litchfieldstation.com and drop Bruce an e-mail with details of the loco you want to out sound into. It is not trivial doing a good sound install.
