Who started this language anyway???
then again... a really good import here is "Have a Nice Day"... you can REALLY insult people with it.

I usually respond to "Have a Nice Meal" with "DON'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO"! It scares the.... out of young waiting staff ... until they see the grin... haven't worn my meal yet....

Try the place name "Quernmoor"... East of Lancaster... in four year I worked out that the pronunciation depends on the point of the compass and the day of the week.

Some bright spark manager decided that instead of "Sis/Madam" we should all use the customer's first name when we knew it (selling rail tickets)... went down a whole bundle with the "County Types" in the queue Monday morning. GREAT!!!!
One of them (now that I'm thinking about Bromley, Kent)... a VERY large VERY tweedy lady... demanded to know the reason for cancellations... the reason was a "lack of staff"... her response "I don't want to know about your short staff" raised a faint smile... she went ballistic... it might not have gone further if the new young lady manager (drool) hadn't fallen about laughing when she was told what the screaming row was about...
