I have a corner that I am going to build this weekend. The modular piece is 24" Deep and 18" wide. I am running a double mainline from rear right corner to the front left corner.
What will be the radius ??? I am hopping to have them both be around 18" but not sure.
thanks
Josh

I may be wrong but at 18" wide I believe your only going to have a 9" radius...again I may be wrong but thats a little to sharp

IF your corner module mates with other modules that are 18" wide like mine, making it 3' wide from the corner will give you a single main curve of 27r" at the center, and dual curves of 24"r and 30"r with approx. 3" clearance between them. Go from there as Passenger car's overhang on curves. 2' Corner modules translate to a 15"r centerline with the engine rubbing the wall @ 26"r.
Corner 4' modules will give you 42" and 38"r center's. Two parallel tracks mainline straight's is 2.25" standard centers. Keep your curved tracks Center/Centers between 2.25" - 3".

If you have completed nearly 20 deg of curvature by the time the track joins the module you are discussing, crossing onto it about 7" up from the back edge, you might get a 22" radius in before the track crosses nearest the close corner, and passes over onto the next module. This is off the top of my head, trying to visualize what you actually mean.

Thanks for the responses. I think the 18-20" radius is what I will wind up with but its hard to tell until I start building it tonight.
here is a little digram
<- 18" wide ->
..............................
. . Start
. .
. . 24" deep
. .
..............................
Finish
Thanks, I will check in tonight when I get home from work.
