Almost Posted a Really Stupid Poll
Posted by RedGrey62 on Wednesday, January 11, 2006 4:25 PM
I was contemplating a humorous poll, but decided against it for obvious reasons. I am heading home for a couple of weeks of leave from Iraq. In the time that I've been gone, my lovely wife has purchased a BLI Burlington E9 and several BLI CZ passenger cars. The poll was going to ask what should I hug first, my wife, my dogs, the E9, or the CZ cars, I could also include a beer since we don't get that here?

Howeverm, I think the order will be, my wife, the dogs, my wife. Then I'll just see how it plays out from there!

Good choice. Hugging the wife first will increase the chances of similar purchases in the future........... And besides, you don't want to take a chance on bending those delicate parts of the locomotive....... [;)]

Welcome back, and thanks for serving.

I'd go with the wife on this one. The rest will come to you, but if you don't go to her first she might not come to you in a while, and that would be BBBBBAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAADDDDDDDD!!!!!!!!!!

And thanks for your service to this country! Have a good leave.

In my opinion every poll posted here is stupid. I have an MBA in Marketing from the University of Chicago and wouldn't attempt a poll here. The cross section is too narrow. The responses too few and the questions are ludicrous for accuracy. The only poll I would like to see at this point is,"Should we have anymore polls?" with the only choice NO.

Good choice, gotta keep the wifie happy!

And even though it may not seem like much...

I really thank you and all the other troops over in Iraq. You guys deserve a really big hug from all Americans, with a firm handshake, and a genuine "looked in the eye" appreciation and gratitude for the service and sacrifice you bestow for our continued freedom and democracy.

I have never served, but others in my family have since WWI.

Thanks again,

Dude! You missed the point. What we have here is a returning Vet.

RedGrey,

I was serious about the beer. Email me your address and I'll see what I can do about getting it to you.

Your new engine will not know when you show up. It will wait, and the pleasure can easily be deferred. However, a disappointed wife...THAT lasts a lot longer....a LOOOOOOOTTT longer.

Enjoy.

Rick,

If your wife is buying you model railroad equipment, my advice is wife, wife, wife and wife (although not necessarily in that order).

Welcome home, even if it is only temporary.

Andre
It's really kind of hard to support your local hobby shop when the nearest hobby shop that's worth the name is a 150 mile roundtrip.

Polls may be silly, our gratitude for your wifes sacrifice and yours isn't. Have a great leave. Take time to enjoy her excellent company, and the "Mouse's" beers.
Thank you!
