chatted with the athearn rep. at the train show today in Houston

there was a good train show here in Houston today with lots of layouts and vendors...there were also a number of representatives for some of the major companies there with Athearn included...i talked to the guy for a bit and saw some of the new line of athearn equipment ...looks like the prices are going to go up but the locomotive details are getting better in their genesis line...one locomotive i noticed was an MP15AC which is one of my favorites but then i saw the price...$149.00 and that was the one without sound, I cringed a bit but then again the detail was better than what i'm used to from Athearn equipment of the past....maybe Athearn is finally taking strides to catch-up with companies like Proto, and Atlas when it comes to their details...the guy also told me that athearn will still be making "kits" as long as people keep buying them, so it looks like blue box will be here to stay...now i have to convence my wife that the assortment of the twenty blue boxes of athearn rolling stock that i bought today at the show is necessary for keeping the economy afloat and keeping Athearn in business....think she'll buy that one?....[:D] chuck

sure she will - say the world would just end if Athearn stopped making blue-boxes- somehow the entire economy (gas prices inclided) would just fall apart and prices of everything (gas included) will skyrocket for some unknown reason

If you truly understand economics you would realize the very fabric of the universe is on shaky legs at best. If you did not buy those blue boxes today the worldwide economic impact could have been catastrophic! (well it 'could' have been...right??)

Or you could just blame Bush for making you buy them.

your wife should be glad you bought 20 blue-boxes and not 20 RTR's. (b-b is less expensive than RTR)
