Cleaning Brass models
Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, January 3, 2006 2:32 PM
I need some advice. I recently bought a number of N-scale brass passenger cars and I want to repaint them. I have soaked them in plastic paint stripper, acetone amd turpentine but cannot get rid if all the factory paint. I am considering sand blasting or ultrasounding but would like to get any opinions or information from anyone who may have tried to strip brass before. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Has anyone tried ZipStrip on brass? Be careful... this stuff will destroy plastic.

I use a product called polly s easy lift off paint and decal remover
safe on most plastics and metals
removes unwanted decals
removes unwanted coatings
works on most types of paint
contains diethyleen glycal
