Lionel 027 starter set

First of all, I know absolutely nothing about model trains. I am purchasing a starter set for a liitle boy who lost his train in Hurricane Katrina. His dad stated he wanted a steam engine. I bid on a 027 starter set on EBAY. Does this have a steam engine?

It could have either a steam loco or a diesel, it depends on the set. If you can post a pic or a link to the auction it would help!
