I can't help you with the prototype you are modeling but a similar type of operation in Canada has a web site - to get to it do a search on excite for Claybank Brick Plant Canada. This is a national historic sight. They may be able to provide some info. I believe small hopper cars were used. The plant will be part of the tours for the PNR regional convention in 2002.
