He checked the Walthers catalog and discovered that the ebay price listed was exactly the MSRP as listed in the 2005 Walthers catalog. A quick check showed that DPM prices have increased quite a bit since the 2005 catalog came out and that the ebay seller was selling his at about 20 percent less than the prices listed on Walthers.com.

I purchased 4 kits from this seller. He charged me $5.50 postage and handling. I got the box today (those DPM Hotel kits sure are heavier than you'd thing!). Guess what? The postage stamp on the box said $7.70. This seller ate the price of the box, the packing material and a bit on the postage. On top of that - his price was lower than Walthers, internettrains.com and discounttrainsonline.com. He's also a very friendly person (I emailed him my concern when I first read the post decribed above). You better believe I'm buying from him again!

There are some mighty fine folks out there. Sometimes you just have to dig a bit.

Dave
[/quote]

Yes Dave, you're right. There are some good dealers out there on ebay, but they're getting harder and harder to find... I myself have had to eat the extra shipping charges on items I've sold that I underestimated the shipping on, so I know how that is from a sellers point of view. I also have some favorite sellers that I'll gather up and list real soon for those that might be interested in giving them a try.

trainluver1
