QUOTE: Originally posted by Jacktal

Most model railroading techniques, whether it is electrical,scenery,benchwork,etc...apply to most scale indifferently. What is specific to scales are the new products advertised and that is pretty well covered by MR,in fact there are way too much advertising. On TV,we have to live with invading advertising but at least TV is,or was, free.I'm not renewing my subscription this year for this reason...got tired of buying advertising.
I dont want to spin this thread off topic, but I no longer watch TV, I get my news from the Net daily, weather within 5 minutes of NOAA in times of storms from the net and free DVD's for movies from the library.

TV is obselete and I think the broadcasters know it.

I do have the Satellite, but that will be retired when Fiber Optic delivers programming and movies to my computer next year. Even Sirus radio is going into our cars. No more AM or FM.

Advertising is a way of life in this world. But not much of it gets thru my world these days.

MR is still my favorite magazine. The ads in it are very useful.
