Portable CVP EasyDCC system?
Posted by bikerraypa on Thursday, November 3, 2005 9:38 PM
I remember seeing a post not long ago wherein someone had mounted their EasyDCC panel in a toolbox for portability. I've decided to go with the EasyDCC system instead of the Digitrax (and goodbye, AtlasMaster!!), and I like the idea of portability. I've searched the forum and can't find the derned post!! Anyone help a fellow out here? Thanks![:)]

Well I don't have an EasyDCC system, but I have a "Railrcommand" mounted in a brief case. We used it for our modular layout. The control pannel is hinged on the top half of the case. When the case is laid flat and opened it swings down and nests into the bottom. The panel ends up sitting at about a 60 degree angle so it is easy to use. We put plugs in the outside of the case so we could easily plug in more throttles. The power unit is mounted on rubber feet directly in the bottom of the case. The whole thing can be set up in about 90 seconds.

For places that don't even have a power outlet, I made a rechargeable battery with an appropriate lead to plug straight into my Digitrax Zephyr.
