SW-1500 Hood

Hi everyoneGreat site isn't it? I am starting to detail a couple of Athearn SW-1500s and would like to know what was under and what size is the screening on top of the hood. Any info (pictures, suggested books or web pages) would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Dave:
I have been a member of a couple different sites like this in the past couple years. I've received some very good advise and alot of good information. In regards to your question Atheran SW1500 screening, I've never gotten that indepth and technical. But, in answer to your question concerning info sources: RMC June `68; MR Dec `76
Model Railroading with Atheran. Check the hobby shops in your area if they carry the back issues;
swap meets and estate sales where modelers are selling off their layouts; flea markets and places
that carry back model railroad magazines.
We have a couple hobby shops here in Colorado Springs that carry the back issues. My suggestion is: Take a folding chair with you and make sure you got all day to pore over the magazines: You'll be helping the owner to close the store at 5pm!
