Kato SD40-2 Sound?
Posted by jacon12 on Friday, October 21, 2005 4:11 PM
I have a Kato that I'd like to try installing sound in but not if its very difficult. I put a dcc board in and I wish now I had installed the sound one but thats another story. Is it difficult to install the speaker? From where would I order all the necesary parts?

Have five of these; I want sound also. I just got off the
phone with a guy with a very good reputation who is going to do a
Loksound decoder installation for me.

He may have to remove some metal to get the speaker in, neither
of us knows yet. But he has the right tools and I don't.

Will tell you more when it comes back.

Loksounds, MRC Brilliances and old Soundtraxx models are about all
that is available yet. The latter two don't function at all on DC,
but the Soundtraxx are on sale for very low prices.

Regards

Hal
