Helping a friend. Any ideas? Anyone have info or maps to share hidden the archives of your libraries?

the Toledo and Ohio Central Extension Railroad, incorporated August 27, 1888, and succeeded, by purchase, to the property of the Marietta, Columbus and Northern Railroad Company. A receiver was appointed November 10, 1893, and in December, 1900, the company was reorganized as the Marietta, Columbus and Cleveland Railroad Company.

The main line of road extends from Palos, Ohio, to Moores Junction, Ohio, 41.09 miles.

Purchased by the Pittsburgh and Lake Erie in 1905

On September 1, 1905, The Pittsburgh and lake Erie Railroad Company purchased the assets of the Little Kanawha Syndicate, so called, which included the capital stock of the Little Kanawha Railroad Company, the Marietta Columbus and Cleveland Railroad Company, the Burnsville and Eastern Railroad Company, the Parkersburg Bridge and Terminal Railroad Company, the Zanesvill Marietta and Parkersburg Railroad Company and the Belington and Northern Railroad Company, some of the lines being completed, others in process of construction and others unbuilt.

On December 29, 1908, the owning companies assigned and transferred the capital stock of the Marietta Columbus and Cleveland railroad Company to a commitee representing the bondholders to be used for their benefit.

I would start by contacting the Washington County, OH Historical Society. My local county historical society was a great resource for period photos of the time period I model as well as some other information. Even had a book for sale about the industry I was looking to find some info about. They may also be able to point your friend in the direction of other sources of information about Marietta and trains.
