Started with American Flyer in '51. Went to HO in '56. Moved to Europe and began modeling western European prototype. Bought a PFM brass Daylight GS-4 in '60 shortly before tearing down layout to move. Haven't had a layout since but have continued buying SP, UP, & ATSF equipment with a break between about '75 and '95. If I were starting now and were younger, I would go with N scale because of space. I could squeeze an N scale layout in 20x20 and still run large western steam power and long trains. I feel that N would become too small within the next 5 years or so with the probability of macular degeneration and the future need for reading glasses. <br />sp3811
