Train Lift or transfer Table?

I'm thinking about running a dead end spur into an otherwise unusable corner of the layout... into an industrial building... probably with a "roller shutter" door (in fact a guiliotine door... but I reckon that it will look the same with the shape sliding up/down the doorway)... Rather than only being able to put in one or two cars at a time I'm thinking about fitting a lift or a transfer table inside... in effect to act as a magazine... in fact i would only run on/off at the operating level and give the lift several floors or the table several tracks.
Has anyone tried this?
Any good ideas on indexing the system?

That sounds brilliant. You could bring a whole new meaning to the loads in empties out concept. It sounds reasonably workable good luck with it.
