an idea??
Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, October 4, 2005 11:36 AM
As I was putting extra details on a flatcar together this weekend, I was wondering if anyone makes a decal that looks like weathered wood, I know you can get old brick to put on brick, but how about wood decking? You know maybe a four piece set that you can put on the car. I paint mine gray and then use acrylics, tan umber, whites in washes to get the effect and I know you can buy wood decking to laminate on top, but wood decking decals would be better, you could even use them on gondola floors and inside open boxcars. How about it decal people?

Why don't you draw some up or photograph the ones you've made by hand and have one of the decal companies print them up for you? You could sell the surplus of the minimum order you don't need for yourself.
