Handy decal tip
Posted by jimrice4449 on Monday, October 3, 2005 5:30 PM
Have you ever been frustrated in trying to cut out those tiny white numbers and letters for dimensional data and end reporting marks? The white on the pale blue or pink decal paper just seems to disappear before your (incresingly bloodshot) eyes. Try using one of those broad tip black marking pens from the super market on the back of the decal paper. The ink will bleed through the paper and those little devils will stand out like a German Shepard at a cat show. I've tried this on cars w/ yellow and white sides and the bleed through stops w/o sticking to the decal film itself.

Great tip for my failing eyeballs. Thanks, will give it a try my next decal session.

That is why I switched to Dry Transfers even though I prefer decals. I will give this a try. Thanx.

My method for the tiny decals is to cut them out with a razor blade, leave them on the blade, add a small drop of water then use a tooth pick to gently pu***hem off the razor and onto the item I'm working on.

Great tip though about the marker. Will have to try that sometime...
