Atlas Turnout Question
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, September 4, 2005 9:16 PM
Are the N-scale Standard Line Turnouts staright on the main side of them, i laid them out and they appear to be curved on both sides, can any one suggest a different turnout/brand, or to help me straighten them out?

i have had the same problem with the atlas switches in n and ho. the straight stock rail is curved and makes it look a little like a wye. i am usually able to straighten them out by nailing each end and then gently pu***he tie strip over a little and drill a hole in the middle tie to hold them in position with a track nail until i get the ballasting done. but now i'm using foam boards under the cork so i just have to live with it. you could use peco which are a little more expensive but i've seen them with the same problem too. you only see it if you look down the track but i like atlas because i use hand throws for all my switches.
