besides being a HUGE FM H-series fan, i"m also a big E unit fan. in N scale i have an E6AB,E7A,E8A and two E9A"s. i would REALLY LOVE to get my hands on an E2. does anyone make these in N scale? has anyone made them? if not, has anyone herd if any manufacturer has plans to make them? surely i couldnt be the ONLY one that would want an E2 in thier passenger fleet. would someone PLEASE help me in my quest.

I'm not aware of any RTR N scale E2, there may be a brass model out there but expect to pay big money for it. I'd like to see some early E units too but the problem seems to be that most of the pre-E6 locos were built for a small number of roads - some were only built for a single buyer (UP in the case of the E2s). Manufacturers seem wary of single-road diesels (though I notice they have no worries about tooling steamers that are equally limited). The usual argument is that they won't make enough profit from selling a loco with only one possible paint scheme to cover the cost of tooling, though this doesn't seem to apply to equally restricted steam locos...
