Art,

The phesants came out well as did the other stuff. I'm thinking that cornfield must have been a lot of work. Good job.

On the mylar I have a question. The photos pick up the rocks sitting on the water, but I've found that I have to watch camera angle on a lot of things. I'm wondering if you can see that with the eye.

Some of it. A lucky pic can focus the eye, where in real life my eye tends to wander and I see the whole scene. The pond is so unfinished that here the pic looks better. This is my first attempt with mylar. I think other things will be better for running water.

Art,
Too me, the larger rocks look fine as if they slid down the hill. The only ones that may need adjusting are the small ones on the water. If your like me, you probably didn't even notice them. Good job!

Great stuff as always guys. This thread took forever to load. The file sizes must be stupendous. I envy the modeling talent displayed here tonight.
A mixture of 1:1 and HO to post tonight.

First is the newest addition to the motive power roster on the BRVRR. Actually my grandson's birthday present. I installed a TCS T1 decoder and ordered a Soundtraxx sound decoder for it.

NYC PA #4210 at the head of a short 'mail and express' passes under the roadway bridge on the BRVRR.

Probably one of the most photographed steam engines in the U.S., the Strasburg RR's Norfolk & Western #475. The photo was taken on August 13th, 2005. Strasburg, PA is a great place for train fans.
More photos of the Strasburg RR on my website. Pu***he Railroading button and then the thumbnail of #475.

Remember its your railroad

Spent the weekend working on the dock portion of the car ferry operation I am currently adding to my Port Kelsey Railway.

The majority of the dock construction is now complete, just need to add the numerous details and some buildings. Also missing is the water, which I can not do until the car ferry apron is completed, which is next in line for this project.

The picture looks a little bland, but that won't last for long.

Details of this project can be found on my weblog, here....

FastTracks, that looks absolutely incredible! In your blog you said you had a laser cutter, so does that mean that the seperations between the "planks" of wood are all engraved? Or is each plank a seperate piece?

Jeesh, I can't get over how real that looks. [bow] Excellent job![tup]

Hi,

Thanks for the compliments! Call me Tim.

I did use the laser cutter for some of this dock, makes cutting 2mm plywood much easier [;)]

The planks are strips that are two planks wide, and the full width of the dock long. These have nail holes engraved onto them. They were all stained, and some of the individual planks stained with a darker version to create the look of separate boards. Once stained, I glued them (all 250) onto a thin piece of plywood, and this was fastened onto the top of the dock structure.

This was about the extent of the laser for this project, everything else was done with traditional methods.

Cheers!

Tim,

That is some great stuff. I'm going to have to take some lessons and sudy it. Once again, I'm humbled. Makes me really anxious to get to my layout. IT seems so far away somethimes.
