N-scale track

Hello all!
I am thinking of modelling in n-scale.
I checked out a LHS and realized that there are different codes of track, just like in HO scale (which I am familiar with).
Someone want to give me a breakdown of what these codes in N-scale are and what they mean?

About the closest comparison I can make to HO is that code 75 or 80 in N makes code 100 in HO look like lightweight rail. Code 55 is what I use, which is roughly the equivalent weight of code 100 in HO.
Most rolling stock handles code 55 just fine. I have a few Life Like FA2/FB2 units that rumble on the tie plates of Atlas code 55 track, and MicroTrains cars NOT using the low profile wheels will do the same. I'm told Micro Engineering and Peco flex track does not have the same issues. The problem is that the wheel flanges on those cars and locomotives are too big. MTL now includes a set of low profile wheels in all their cars.
Kato, Atlas and other Life Like (SW9s) locomotives roll along just fine. Atlas, Intermountain, Deluxe, Aztec, Kato and MTL cars with the low profile wheels roll along fine on code 55 rail, and I'm told will also do so on code 40 (no experience with that).
Then there is Peco code 55, which is code 80 buried deeper in the ties to so it is the height of code 55, with a second "foot" that sits on the ties so it looks correct.
