I'm an Air Force brat so I had to keep my trains mobile. That's why I haven't had a serious start to a layout till now. I tried to start one of my own and didn't have room for more than a 4 x 4 table in the first 3 houses we lived in. I bought Joe Fugate's old Morale Falls and Sadgino and held on to that for about 25 years but was never able to expand or include it in any of my attempts. Tried a complete layout in a dedicated train room in our last house and had to constantly move stuff to be able to build stuff. I was unable to find a direction I wanted to go in but toward the end of living in that house I settled on a track plan that would have probably worked for me. Then we became empty nesters and all that room in the house was waste (my wifes viewpoint) so we sold and now live in a nice place that has a great 18 x 22 foot room over the garage that is ALL train room. Two years and I've gone about 150% farther than I did in the nine years in the last place. I'm on a roll!
