this book by Pat Harriman is 163 pages of plans for 45 different wood and stone buildings ranging from simple cabins to large feed and grain buildings and stamp mills . many are the false front western town type of building . the author is an architect and MMR (NMRA master model railroader)

each building has one or two 3/4 view drawings , a floorplan , and front , rear , right and left side views , with enough dimensions , and a description of the building and some construction details . there are colour photos of some of the actual models

this isn't a complete construction manual , but i think by starting with a couple of the simpler buildings one could learn the art of scratchbuilding using this book . certainly if you need a couple of buildings for a 1900's era town or mining district this book will useful . unfortunatly there are no logging related structures

i think it's well worth the $25.95 it sells for
