Believe it or not, there are numerous other interests I have besides trains.

Acting is something that I have always loved. I've always been involved in school drama productions and am taking acting at university next year. I hope to continue to pursuing this in the future.

I read a lot and buy a lot of books (faster than I can read them). I mainly read classic whodunit mysteries and historical books.

History (expecially WWII) is a big interest of mine.

I also like writing and have written a few screenplays.

I'm also a classic movie buff. That in itself isn't strange, but when your my age it is. There aren't too many 18-year-olds out there who are more familiar with movies from the 30's, 40's, 50's and 60's than current ones.

I am a big racing nut, in all scales! Over 40 years racing slot cars, more than 25 years racing 1:1 scale race cars, and also enjoy R/C car racing, mostly 1/8 scale nitro off road. I also still ride my dirt bikes, although much slower now than 30 years ago! [:D] Also fishing, camping, shooting, building plastic models, and working on my full size cars, ( I'm down to about a dozen cars now from over 2 dozen a few years ago! ) [:0]

baseball, grand scale live steam railroading, garden railroading, a little coin collecting, off roading, riding go-carts on off road tracks and the Oregon Dunes in the summer. (which I will be leaving to in a couple weeks!) just things like that!

Wow, what a diverse list of hobbies! There's some fascinating people out there.

I think I have too many hobbies and other interests. Too many to indulge in them all, so many of them are dormant.

I think my first love is electronics. I've been designing and building electronic stuff since I was a teenager and I won't say how long ago that was. Model railroading, of course. I'd like to do more railfanning, but don't have the time. Ham radio--VE4ZH--but that's been dormant for a number of years, but I want to get back into it again. Photography with a good quality digital camera. I especially like taking pictures of flowers and interesting scenery and buildings. I'm trying to take as many pictures as I can of wall murals in my city. I enjoy recording and editing video, but prefer to make a sort of "documentary" video of an event or location. I made two "documentaries" for an old friend who moved 1500 miles away years ago to show him how his hometown had changed and show him the highlights of the city as it is now. I like playing the organ when no one's around to hear how bad I am at it. Back in the 1970s I did a lot of live music recording and I've still got a couple of high-end reel-to-reel recorders that haven't seen much use lately, but given the opportunity, they'd be put back in service. Also back in the 1970s I was deeply involved in a community-access radio station in my off hours and enjoyed being a DJ there. As a matter of fact, my daughter (who took some training for radio announcing but didn't make it in that field but did work as a DJ in a pub) and I are in the process of recording some "radio programs" on tape for someone who enjoyed listening to a recording of one of my radio programs from the 1970s. I probably waste more time at this computer than anything else. And I musn't forget all the time I waste watching TV. Yes, I'm retired!

Phew! That's quite a list.

I have two other hobbies.

I am a Roller Skater, (Quad skating in todays langauge), I have been skating seven years, and am quite good. I was part of an unofficial speed team at one point. Fun times, fun times. Roller skating is my sport.[:D]

I also write poetry. I have been told that I am a very good poet. I have a collection of about 100 poems I guess. Whether I have a copy of all of them, I don't know. But, I have begun typing them up professional-like, in hopes of one day publishing them.

My dad has a big collection of and buys and sells old cars, so I help him work on them and stuff like that. I've got one of my own, too, a 1985 Burgandy Buick Riviera. Someday I hope to get my dream car, a 1969 Dodge Charger R/T painted like the General Lee! YEEEEEHA![:D][8D][:p]

I also enjoy drawing, railfanning, train photography, fishing, boating, biking, and weather watching/storm chasing.
