Well, sort of! My 2yr old cousin is already fascinated by trains - whenever she comes round here to visit it's "Matt, Trains!". I had a Hornby starter set hanging around from an abandoned project (nothing special, their basic 0-4-0 steamer and three wagons) which I've now passed down for use under supervision - she's got the basic idea of driving them properly already. We're now looking at hauling her dad's old Triang OO scale collection out of grandma's loft with a view to repairing/servicing the locos for the next generation, have to do it fairly soon though as parts for the old locos are getting harder to find.

I think this is probably one of the best things we can do as modellers, passing it on. As model manufacturers don't take out adverts outside model train magazines there's very little exposure to the hobby, so without our efforts there'll be far fewer newbies starting in the hobby.
