Lift-out section

I have decided to use a lift-out or removable track section rather than a "duck-under" section. At the same time, while the section is out, I desire to use the remaining portion of track as a point to point. Is there a good reference for this? I think I have searched all MR's back to '93 and have no results. Can anyone help me or steer me to the right fountain of information? Thanks

I can't remember exactly which issue of MR it's in, but I remember seeing a great article on a layout in a family room done by a person with your same idea. (now that I think of it, it could be a hinge/fold up section, but that might not be a bad idea either.)It features pictures and a good description of the section. The issue is sometime in between '74 and 79, if you can get your hands on an issue that old... and if you can't, try your local library.

Hi ***,
You must have missed "Build a magnetic lift-out bridge," by Bill Darnaby, in the December 1999 MODEL RAILROADER, page 97. I've seen this bridge in action at Bill's operating sessions, and it works very well.
So long,
