Well, I am confused of exactly where the Horn goes on this beautiful engine. Also, are their any prototype pics that you know of of a GN VO-1000?

Here is a link to a picture of a Great Northern Baldwin Locomotive Works VO-1000 # 141. I Don't know where the horn was mounted or what type it was but most of the time they were mounted on the cab or right in front of the cab on the body. Hope this helps.

There are photos of GN VO-1000s in Vol. 1 of the GN Locomotive Pictorial series.
There are links to the books on Linsdey Korst's GN website:www.gngoat.org .

Wow, what a great pic that is, and the nice thing is......... Mine looks almost EXACTLy like that one, I am so happy now, But your right, I cant seem to find the horn, I also looked at tons of other pics of this wonderful loco with different road names and I could not find the horn on any of those as well.. The other nice thing is that, I am modeling ST. Paul, Minniapolis and I will be darned to find out that these were only used IN that region for GN. Thanks so much for the information!
