[8D]Hey guy's
I wrote three weeks ago with a question about a problem I had with current to my BNSF branchline. The problem was (and still is) this: When a loco enters the branch (just off the switch) There seems to be a dead spot until it reaches the insulated rail joiners, when I would place the loco on the other side of the rail joiners the polarity would run the opposite direction [xx(]!! It is not a reversal loop either!!!! I'm just at a loss on what the problem can be.I took out the insulated rail joiners replace the with regular rail joiners only to have a short on the whole branchline[xx(]! DOES ANYONE HAVE AN ANSWER[?]I would hate to have to take out the whole branch line. Part of it is modeled closely to the Keddie Wye in California.
Thanks

this my sound like a stupid qustion but have you checked the wireing maybe you wired that part backwards by misstake and have revirsed the power to the other rail.

EMT is correct. It sounds like you have mis-wired that area. A common mistake as it is easy to confuse all those wires. Fortunately, it should be simple to correct :
The "dead spot" probably is
not
connected to the power supply, or is not getting enough power. You'll probably have to add a connection to your power supply here since the turnout doesn't seem to be routing power to the branchline.
The section with "opposite polarity" has been wired opposite the rest of the track (hence the short-circuit when you changed the rail joiners)-- somewhere while wiring that section, you switched the wires. This should be easy to correct : just disconnect the wires and re-connect them properly.
Hope this helps.
Timothy
