searching for atlas extended vision cupola 1900 series
Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, June 7, 2005 10:28 PM
Hey, would anyone know of any after market place that would have produce cupolas
for atlas 1900 series extended vision caboose.
Trying to bash a atlas 1300 standard vision into a DODx extended vision caboose
but need to get the cupola of an extended vision caboose.
Atlas has stopped making anymore and rep does not have parts. Very expensive to buy two to make one when all you need from one is one part.

Check Moloco, they make extended vision cupolas and are in the Walthers catalog.

thanks for the suggestion Rick, but I have a Walther's catalog and they only show a standard vision caboose cupola in the super detail section, I have also email moloco but have not gotten a reply a of this moment.
I will try to email walthers and see if they have an email/ address to find out if the yhave the extended vision cupola.

afsglmale, right you are, they only show the standard in the catalog. Last year they sent an email to the CB&Q email list looking to see if folks would be interested in a more correct wide vision cupola for a Q caboose. I thought maybe they had more stuff in their line than shown in the catalog. Good luck. Are you going to put you caboose behind a GP-8 or GP-10 US Army rebuild?

If you are kitbashing anyway, what about using an Athearn caboose?

I have two Atlas extended cupolas here somewhere, if I can find them, you can have them. A few years ago I installed the Moloco standard cupolas on two Atlas extended cupola undecorated cabooses and painted them N&W Pevler blue. I never throw things like that away, if I can put my hands on them they're yours.
