GMCRail is Closing!
Posted by gmcrail on Monday, May 23, 2005 5:58 PM
To all the friends and customers of GMCRail, Greetings:

I would like to thank you all for a great 5 years. I’ve gained some very good friends, and had a lot of fun. It’s been a good run, but all good things must come to an end. Much as we hate to let it go, GMCRail will be closing down, effective September 1, 2005.

We will be accepting new projects until July 15. After that, only reprints will be accepted, until September 1, at which time no further orders can be taken. All projects in progress will of course be completed. Customers who wi***o have a CD of their files should let me know, and we'll work out something.

Again, thanks to all of you for your acceptance of my efforts, and for your continued support.

I will still maintain a presence on the Web, of course. I plan on devoting my time to a history and continued development of the Flint Hills Northern, and I'll have a photo gallery of not only my own efforts, but of any other model railroader's who cares to contribute. And I'll still be around, for a long time yet, I hope... [:)]

Sincerely, and with thanks,
Gary M. Collins

Sad to read that you're closing your quality oriented business. For those of us that model U.S railroads of the southeast, many specific decals are hard to come by and must be custom fabricated.

Best wishes and success to you!

Thanks for your service as the MESS will always be indebted to you. I'll be placing my last order with you in the weeks to come.

Once again thank you for your service.

Best Wishes

Fergie

That's so sad! I would have ordered from you, (and I probably still will) if I had known about you. as I model freelance, I could use some custom decals to have some locos that aren't leased.
Good luck with your next job.

Well, Matt, you still have 7 weeks or so, plus another 6 weeks of reprints... Bring it on![:D]

Actually, I'm hoping to avoid a "next job", since I'm retired, and plan to stay that way. It really beats heck outa workin' for a living! [:D]

GMCRail was something to avoid getting bored, and to learn something and meet people. It's done all of that, much to my delight, but the supplies of Alps ink are showing signs of going away, so it's time to bail out while I can still get some for my own use.

Thanks for your kind remarks, though.

Gary
