I recently acquired three Walthers Santa Fe passenger cars. After I drill out the locations for the wire grab irons, I'm uncertain as to what adhesive I should use to attache them permanently. Anyone have any recommendations? Thanks...

I'm sure someone would have a definite answer, but I'll throw out the possbility of maybe using that clear stuff that Testors makes to glue in windshields? It dries clear and comes out a drop at a time.

A little tiny drop of gell type CA, put it in the hole with a pin, then install the grab irons. Make sure the grab irons are clean first - 70% isopropyl alcohol - and do NOT touch them with your fingers, use cleaned tweezers.

I use ZAP CA glue...once the grab iron is mounted, i take a piece of scrap wood and drill a hole in it just deep enough to hold a a few drops of the CA glue...then I dip a piece of wire (like the spring wire that comes with a tortoise machine) into the glue and add it to the inside portion of the model's shell to coat the grab iron ends where they come out of the shell and the shell itself...once it dries it holds very well and by glueing it on the inside of the shell there are no glue marks or blobs...chuck

CA = cyanoacrylate, aka "super glue" aka "crazy glue".
