Kato coupler screws- what is the trick?

I have an almost impossible time unscrewing these, usually having to use needle-nose pliers to untwist these as my screwdrivers tend to strip the head. Is there any special trick to undoing these? They seem to be welded in place!

Get the tightest fitting screw driver that will fit the screw. If you've already buggered up the screw, you might be able to cut a new notch with a dremel tool.
