I picked I love it although everyone on here will pick one of the last two. If they dont like trains, what are they doing on here?

I voted "I hate it" just to keep things in perspective here --

But really, anyone who is voting has got to be a train lover, or they wouldn't be here in the first place, so this is a rather useless poll.

Isn't that like going to a Star Trek convention and asking all the people dressed as Klingons if they like Klingons?

Another waste of bandwidth. Start a poll for no other reason than you can. The second one started today by the same person. If you have nothing to contribute to the forum, start a poll.

Bob, you certainly have the right to speak your mind in this forum. But, I really wish you'd exercise better judgement when you do.

Ease up, Dude. You know the old saying, "If you feel compelled to disagree, try not to be disagreeable in doing so!"

What would it have cost you to have gently explained to the initiator that there are ways to improve his polling for future efforts. Rather than slam him from great heights, why not offer guidance? You have considerable seniority upon which to call; try offering it in a constructive way, not a destructive way.

Respectfully,

got to love it. It was great for me when i started, i was just recovering from a broken arm (i have a plate and 6 screws in me) and i think it helped me heal faster. It keeps me occupied and i did not even think about my arm too much because i was always, and still am busy with the railroad![:D]

It does not matter how any of us respond to those that need to bash another person's efforts. People with near terminal insecurity buoy themselves by slamming other people. They rip people down rather than making any effort to lift themselves up from the self-pitying pit they hide in. Perhaps one might suggest therapy?

Is "model railways" a magazine or do you mean model trains in general?

If it is the first, I've never heard of it. If it's the second, I think it does'nt make much sense.

Hello Boblonian,

I very much enjoy the hobby. My family thinks I'm a little on the obsessive side. I have to remind them that if that were the case, I would have taken out a $3000 loan and purchased every car, locomotive, and structure kit that I wanted! But as family man, I have to budget responsibly.[;)][:D]

Guys, I checked Bob's profile. He may be one of our younger members, so let's keep cool! [;)][;)][8D]

Bob, would you be willing to tell us about yourself? Not your address or anything too personal, just your model railroading habits, favorite time period, do you have a layout or planning one, are you into dcc, do you like passenger trains, etc.

Cheers!

"I like my Pullman Standards & Budds in Stainless Steel flavors, thank you!"

I had spinal fusion surgery, and model railroading gave me something to do while I recovered. Here's to the worlds best hobby![2c]
