Train dog...
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, May 5, 2005 4:57 PM
I have a five year old long hair black lab named Buddy that loves to stand on top of my work table in my train room across from my layout and watch my trains go. If I tell him I'm going out to run the trains, he starts wagging his tail and here he comes.
The first few times I let him come out and watch he barked at them, but has since mellowed out and just stands there and watches as if he's puzzled.
He also likes to go chase real trains with me once in a while, and loves to ride in the back of the truck like a lot of dogs do. I call him my "train dog".

Sam,

It just goes to show you that "trained" dogs are always much better behaved than untrained ones...

Hello tstage (Tom),

Yes, Buddy is truly a "train-ed" dog...

My dog likes to follow me on the back porch to watch the trains with me. Actually, he likes to howl as it blows the horn. Guess you could say we have our dogs "trained" well.[:D][8D][;)]

I take my black lab out railfanning all the time. He loves to chase "squirrel farts" while I sit on top of my Jeep waithing for something with steel wheels roll by. It's a pretty great way to spend a summer afternoon!

My Schnauzer "Schnitzel" is always ready to play with the trains!! He loves to follow me into the garage to run them. I have a tall stool for him to sit and watch the excitement!! And who says dog's have it so hard???

My little Yorkie loved to go for train rides and bark herself silly on the 71/2" gauge railway at the Adobe Mountain RailRoad park here in Arizona,Sadly she passed away 4 months ago....and life just got a little dimmer.
