Skeleton Log Car plans

I need some plans to build 50 skeleton log cars in HO. I found lots of pictures, but a set of plans would help get the details correct. Any experience out there?

Have you searched the Magazine index on this site? I'd imagine the Narrow Gauge & Short Line Gazette would have published such plans at one time or another.

Arthill: may I suggest you go to ebay and find older roundhouse mdc kits of skeleton cars( usually 3 to a box) and use them as prototypes, it worked for me and all the detail is there in scale, 50 ???? how big is your forest?? what are you planning to make them out of?? good luck.

Big forest. Long trains. I will buy couplers and trucks. The rest out of walnut. A little brass straping and some chain.

Buy two of the Rivarossis for $19.00 as an example to build from.

Arthill,
Just did a keyword search at the
Index of Magazines
. It found 11 article citations:
http://index.mrmag.com/tm.exe?opt=S&sort=A&output=3&cmdtext=SKELETON+LOGCAR
You'll have to contact their publishers for back copies or photocopies, or, as an alternative contact the NMRA's
Kalmbach Memorial Library
:

Their rate is reasonable, even if you're not a member.
