Opening up a Rivarossi DCC BigBoy....

I bought a Rivarossi BigBoy with builtin DCC decoder about two years ago. I would like to replace the DCC decoder with a more modern decoder than the ancient Lenz?/Arnold? decoder it currently has. So far I''ve been unable to figure out how to get the shell apart. I can see two small screws on the underside of the boiler however it looks like I would have to remove both sets of driver assemblies to get access to those screws.
Any hints/tips?
Thanks.
