Heisler HOn3 conversion help
Posted by Anonymous on Wednesday, April 20, 2005 1:45 PM
I have an older (pre-DCC invention) Riavrossi Heisler in HO.
I would like to convert it to HOn3.
Can anyone help me with information regarding new trucks, etc.????

Thanks,

Joe

I don't have a clue about this, whether it can be done or not. I do know normal conversions like this require the narrowing of the existing wheelsets. I've read about other conversions, and some appeared to be relatively simple, depending upon the makeup of the original trucks. I have one of the original Heislers and there doesn't appear to be much room to move the wheels in any. Since these trucks are farily complex with their internal gearing, I doubt there are replacements available, but who knows!

You might want to check out YahooGroups to locate some HOn3 groups and join them, then ask this question. Might as well ask where you are likely to get an answer.

Good luck!

I don't think you can do this without more hassle than it's worth. But if you do it, I would be very interested in what you had to do to pull it off. If it's doable, I would be interested in doing a similar conversion - except in my case it would be to Sn2.

Enjoy
