I had a moment of rapture myself last night. I spent a few hours fastening the handrails and grabirons onto a Kato SD70MAC, grumbling about 'why can't they have them pre-installed like P2K, yada, yada...' Never mind that, I still prefer the smooth-running Kato mechanism over anything else. Then it came time to run it on my test track and... what's this I see?... operating ditch lights! I agree about the new Athearns though, they are beautiful machines for their price range.
