Switching Puzzle
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, September 9, 2002 10:35 PM
I'm looking for an article on how to build a switching puzzle that appeared in MR some time ago. I have the Issue of the magazine but I can't remember which one it is in. Can anyone give me some help in finding it? I have two Nephews, age 6, that I would like to build copies for. Thanks, John

Have you tried using the Mag Index on the upper left of this page? I tried to find John Allen's switching contest puzzle but couldn't get any results, hopefully you will have better luck.

Use a web search engine (google, or whatever) and search for "John Allen" and "timesaver" - timesaver was the name of the layout for some reason. You should find several versions of track plans, etc.

John Allen's original Timesaver article was in November 1972 MR, page 66.

There was an earlier thread on this subject which may show up in your search. There is also a club website with plans. Good luck. Mark
