Whoever you choose, you should ask to see samples of their work (probably by photos), and references from those who have had work done. A year or more ago on the newsgroup rec.models.railroad there were many threads about one custom painter who was giving many people trouble. He would ask for payment in advance and it seems he got in over his head and couldn't complete much of the work. He was a real dipstick, posting messages himself under other's names, etc.. Many of those who sent him models lost not only their payment but also their models, sometimes expensive ones. It would be better to be safe than sorry! Good luck! Bob Boudreau
