I don't let petty politics and greed get in the way of what I buy. I live in a town serviced by both UP and BNSF. I railfan both lines equally. But I buy more UP (and fallen flag roads) than BNSF easily. Because I like to weather rolling stock... and the UP cars being older tend to be nastier looking. BNSF cars are too new - and therefore too clean for me. (Yes, I know about the oxide red 2-bay cement hopers, but that's an exception).
