New Walthers 34' hoppers

I just got some of the new HO scale Walthers 34' hoppers in today and just had to make up a coal load for them. The cars are pretty nice. They come with metal wheels and knuckle couplers. Sorry, not Kadee's.

Dan,

Looks good. How would you rate them compared to Athearn Blue Box, Stewart, Bowser etc?

I would say they are pretty comprable to stewart and Bowser. The detail is pretty good as is the printing. Probably a notch above the Athearn cars as the details look finer. It does come assembled though but no coal load.

Too bad they're twice the price of the Accurail cars, which have better detailing...

Yeah, just what the hobby needs . . . more little hoppers, as if they haven't been overdone to death by now. [V]
