Intresting. Yesterday I officially decided to repaint my 3751 black. I can't have a locomotive that makes me angry everytime I see it. And the fact that BLI is bringing out glossy black improved versions only makes me feel worse. <br /> <br />All the vintage footage and color photos I've seen of Santa Fe fat steamers have been ashy black (still darker than BLI) with soot and scale on some parts. A uniform light gray is NOT what a weathered steamer looks like. BLI has failed. <br /> <br />I wish I didn't pay $300 for a loco I have to repaint darker, but, "I gotta do what I gotta do son".
