coupler replacement

I ordered some kadee and mchenry couplers but the shaft on my freight cars is much smaller than the holes in the new couplers. what do you use to make a neat fit for the couplers? is there something else that I need to order? seems that there should be something simple to use as a shim.

What kind of car are you trying to put couplers on? Did you check the Kaydee's compatiblity list? let us know, there are hundreds of products out there that uses tens of different kinds of coupler sizes and types.

BTW: Buy a bulk pack of kadee 5's, a pack of pockets, a pack of shims and a pack of bushings, and you can upgrade about 90% of your rollin' stock to knuckle for peanuts.

Some of the Kaydee packs come with the plastic gromet like piece that fits over the Bachmann oin and makes the shaft the right size for the coupler.

Ya, thems teh bushings, you can also get them seperately, a life supply in one pack and there are 2 sizes in the pack. I can look up the P/N later, but might 4get. Hit my site and leave a message and I'll get to it tomorrow night: http://www.2guyzandsumtrains.com If you only need a couple, I could prob be talked into mailing them from my supply.
