That changed rapidly from the mid-60s onwards and all of a sudden, steam engines were no longer - not even fan trips, as Deutsche Bundesbahn would not allow steam engines being operated on their tracks. Fortunately, that has changed since and we can now enjoy plenty of steam again!</p> <p>Talking of steam - the iron horse was and always will be a steam engine for me, not a Diesel or electric engine.</p>
