I am new in this hobby, I bought a spirit of 76 and two of the gears are split looking like someone super glued them before but they spin on the axles. I took them off counted the teeth and it seems like they are 14 tooth gears I cannot for the life of me find a 14 tooth gear for ho tyco trains. The motor in the train is running great. I just need those gears.
They are red and on the two drive axles.
Does anybody know where I could find them?

Many of us have fond memories of starting out in the hobby with Tyco train sets. Unfortunately the locomotives (diesels) were not made to last, their useful lifespans were usually counted in hours. Even if you find replacements and resore it to perfect condition, it's a short term mechanism.

A number of model RRers have found suitable drives from other manufacturers to adapt and fit under the Tyco body shell, if they were fond of it.
Seconding the notion that these don't run all that great. That being said, they can be improved. If you google Tyco Powertorque perfomance upgrades, there's various YouTube videos and forum posts about upgrading the magnets and other bits for more power and performance.
As for parts, the only way you're going to get them is used. There's almost always junk lots on eBay of Tyco motor parts, and if your local model railroad hobby shop has a used section chances are there's a junker Tyco in there you can get for parts.
